 | OPENED: ?, PHOTO: ? Hah! This is funny. The former occupant of this building was a different coffee shop that offered a drive-thru. But when the Starbucks was built, the residents protested (or asked nicely, or whatever) the drive-thru because of the traffic, and Starbucks conceded. However, patrons would still drive up to the window and wait and then complain about the "slow" service, until the staff put up a sign explaining that the drive-thru is not operational. Boy, I'd love to have seen the looks on some of their faces when they discovered they'd been waiting all that time for nothing. Oh, and before I forget--check out the cool design and paint scheme! |
 | OPENED: ?, PHOTO: ? I had to wait about 15-30 minutes for the electronic sign to cycle back to the message welcoming Starbucks to the Hanna Building, but I thought it was just too neat to pass up. Anyway, this is Starbucks apparently gets some cachet from being located in the well-known and historic Hanna Building, in the heart of Playhouse Square, in the theater district. The store stands to become even more appealing once it receives approval to open up the balcony to customers and the occasional musical act. |

Actually, if you just look at the building itself and the interior, this store is prettier. But I am biased towards New York City and its fantastic urban cityscapes, so if I had to choose, I'd prefer to hang out there, where the view out the window would be more interesting. |
