Starbucks in Memphis

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

Next to the bar hangs the coolest digitally-enhanced photo of this store taken by one of the customers. I dream of being able to take a photo like that one of these days.

I was lucky to arrive early in the morning, because a few hours later I would have lost time weaving my way through fans of the Memphis Grizzlies, an NBA franchise just relocated from Vancouver.

Of the bazillion Starbucks on Poplar Avenue, this older store might be one of the most interesting. Yes, it's in a strip mall instead of free-standing, but its facade is unusual.

The design of this store resembles... wait, let me check...

Nope, I was wrong. The similarities to those other stores, Disco Kroger in Atlanta and Thoroughbred Village in Nashville, are slight. What do you think?

Be sure to read the proudly-displayed article about this newer (in 2004) store, the fifteenth in the Memphis area.

This store features the Clasico design with an added element, a portion of the floor done up in a funky, maybe even Picasso-like, mosaic stone pattern (though only brown--no bright colors). Oh, and don't miss the cool photo of Beale Street (on a counter near the bar when I visited).

The first store I remember seeing with that unusual lime green colored stone.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
