People Who Should Die
Introduction
In a more ideal world, the people descibed below would never have been allowed to grow up to have the type of character that would permit them do such horrible things. If they did slip through the cracks, serious steps could be taken at rehabilitation. But we do not live in that ideal world. Child-rearing is horribly primitive. The prison system is a joke. The practical reality is that we do not have enough resources to manage all the problems that exist in society today, and having to deal with human animals who actively harm society simply consumes resources that are needed to solve other problems.
Though many people, because of their misguided notions of what is "humane", object to the killing of any life, of human life, a full rational person has to conclude that some people should be killed so that society can devote mores resources to solving the problems that affect the rest of population.
Keep in mind that whether to kill a person or not is not a question of "right or wrong". In the absence of evidence to the contrary, the human mind is not capable of making a determination of what is "right" and what is "wrong". What the human mind, the rational mind, can do is to come to a conclusion about whether an action is likely to have a desired effect.

Philadelphia Police Caught Beating Unarmed Victims
Okay, the police are just out of control. Fundamentally, any system which gives one human authority over another is flawed, but American police are completely beyond the pale. Between the repeated abuses by Philadelphia police, the acquittal in the Sean Bell case, the L.A. park abuses from last year, and countless others, I think drastic action needs to be taken. Barak Obama, when elected, needs to pass an executive order decreeing the summary execution of all police officers who have credible accusations of abuse on their records. Yes, some innocent ones will be caught in the slaughter, but weigh that against the world of good that will be done by purging the ranks of the police of those who would abuse their authority. Come on, Obama, you promise fresh ideas--make a clean sweep of the nation's police!

Oxnard student declared brain dead
The identity of the shooter has not been released because of his age, but it doesn't matter who he is--he should die. What is the benefit to society of consuming resources to keep this person alive under surveillance and, presumably, treatment? Are there not plenty of other youths in need who would benefit from those resources? Why not provide better nutrition for needy children who are not prejudiced killers? Why not provide more youth the opportunity for a quality education? All this requires money, and every penny spent keeping the myster killer alive and incarcerated is money that cannot be used to actually benefit society.
Update: his identity has been released--Brandon David McInerney.

Spotting the Internet 'Liar'
Liars should die. I mean that, as a species, humans should take control of their evolution and forcibly change human nature in order to, among many other goals, eliminate people with a propensity to lie. If you research all the evidence of suffering and conflict caused by lying (or, in general, deception), how can you disagree that eliminating lying would be in the best interests of humanity.

Scandals Bring Down Chicago's Elite Police Unit
I'll say it before and I'll keep saying it. People in positions of authority need to be held to the ultimate standard. Corruption in law enforcement, legislature, or or positions of authority undermine the entire system and facilitate exploitation of the citizenry, especially the vulnerable. It is well established that power corrupts. The most effective counterweight to the human tendency to abuse power is the penalty of death. Swift and immediate death. These corrupt Chicago officers should not be sent to prison. They should be executed with all due speed.

Homosexuality in Jamaica
If this report is to be believed, the entire country of Jamaica needs to be wiped off the map. There is no place in the modern world for humans who exhibit such hatred and bigotry. Furthermore, the sheer illogic exhibited by the interviewee who asserted that legalizing homosexuality would be tantamount to stopping procreation--people who think in such an illogical fashion are simply to dangerous to be allowed free.
Of course, we must immediately realize that the attitudes described in Jamacia likely exist in many other societies around the world. While I would like to see Jamaica invaded and all the bigoted citizens reeducated, we would have to this to so many countries that becomes a seemingly impossible task.

'Jena Six' Case Exposes Town's Racial Tensions
more background on story
In this case, it is not one person who should die, but many, the entire town perhaps. With all the problems facing the world, we should have zero tolerance in the 21st century for racism. The white students who hung the nooses--they should have been shot. According to the reports, as the situation worsened, there were other indicents between black and white students. In each case, any student found to exhibit racism should have been shot. In the TOTN segment it was stated that a barbershop in town does not service blacks. If true, everyone associated with that barbershop should have been shop. From what was reported, it appear that Jena is not a place that should be allowed to exist in the 21st century. The town should be destroyed. No one from Jena should be allowed to raise children. In the 21st century, racism is a completely unnecessary impediment of human progress that should not be tolerated.

How New Orleans Police Gunned Down Civilians Fleeing the Flood
First of all let me make it clear that, in general, the victims of police abuse in New Orleans are partly to blame for their misfortune for the simple reason that they were there to begin win. Post-Katrina New Orleans is a place where the vulnerable become even more vulnerable, more so than in other cities (not that other places are exactly fair to the weak, mind you). Regardless, the greater harm to society is the existence of corruption among authority figures, and this should not be tolerated. It is also harmful to make unwarranted assumptions about the officers, and I do not want to do so, but from the facts reported, that the victims included a woman and children, it is hard to see that the officers could have had any justification for firing upon them. Bad cops are the worst thing for society second only to bad politicians, and these men should be put to death as quickly as the facts of their guilt can be established.

Elected Official Blames His Arrest on Fear of Black People
There's a lot to ridicule here, but I focus on the issue of hypocrisy in a completely serious manner. We should not tolerate hypocrisy in government officials, period. To begin with, all institutions which give a human or a group of humans authority over others are inherently flawed because humans have an overwhelming tendency to abuse authority. However, at present, humans are not evolved enough to survive without authority figures. A rational means to ameliorate this situation is to impose the harshest penalties on authority figures who abuse their position, whether through hypocrisy or corruption or other means. In today's trouble times, any penalty short of death does not serve society at large.

Lindsay Lohan
I chose the above link because the stories on npr.org appear to remain archived for many years, if not forever, but I do not share the optimistic tone of the reporter. Actually, that is not accurate--I have no opinion about whether Lindsay Lohan is capable of having a successful film career. I don't care either way. What I do care about is the irrational tolerance that our society shows for drunken drivers. Drunk driving is one of those acts that, in nearly all cases, has no excuse. If the case is that you learn of an emergency, like a sibling in the hospital needing a transfusion of rare blood, perhaps DUI is excusable in that case. But simply drinking and driving for no good reason--that is an act worthy of death in today's world. In a future world where resources are plentiful, a more appropriate solution to drunk driving could be serious treatment. But with all the problems the world has, society has more important things to do with its resources to waste them on drunk drivers. So they should be killed, and people with a high profile like Lindsay Lohan should be first in line in order to serve as a visible deterrent.

Michael Vick
If the allegations about his participation in dog fighting are true, Michael Vick harms society. He should be killed as quickly as possible so that the resources expended dealing with his case can be redirected to more beneficial pursuits.
