Starbucks in Santa Barbara

PLEASE NOTE
The stores pictured below are labeled with information that comes directly from the official Starbucks web site. The only alterations I have made are to remove certain punctuation marks. Please do not report any errors in the names or spellings of streets or cities to me, but rather to Starbucks. Once they fix the error on their end, my database will pick it up. I will fill missing photograph dates as I have time, and I will continue to try and obtain store opening dates.

800 State Street

Location on crowded State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, visiting this store (by car, at least) might prove a challenge, but well-worth the hassle. Between the architecture, the trees, the mountains, and the general ambiance, this store easily deserves a spot on the list of favorites.

Montecito

I may be fluent in Spanish, but my vocabulary is limited. Nevertheless, I will hazard the guess that "montecito" means "little forest", and this Starbucks location certainly bears out its moniker. One oddity about the area is that the Coast Village exit (off the 101) is a left exit--I've seen hundreds of exits all over the country, and left exits are a definite rarity.

Carpinteria & Casitas Pass Rd.

OPENED: ?, PHOTO: 17 December 1999

"Carpinteria", meaning "carpentry", and I'm told it's so named because of the redwood planked canoes built by a local tribe. But enough of the silly historical babble--the real appeal of this store is the drive up US-101, which hugs the coast all the way here from Ventura. When I get around to buying that helicopter, I'll post some shots of this store and the coast.

This florid location, in the outer Santa Barbara community of Goleta, is the northenmost store in Southern California, at least along US-101. It's close proximity to UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara) explains the "Store Hours for Finals" sign, and all the lovely, radiant, southern California college girls.

Licensed Stores (not operated by Starbucks)

PLEASE NOTE
The list below is not meant to be a complete list of licensed stores. Some licensed stores are not listed on the Starbucks web site, and some of the stores listed below might have closed. That's not really important. I only keep track of them so I know which ones I don't need to visit. But if you know for certain that any of these are actually operated by Starbucks, please let me know (and send me a phone # so I can double-confirm).
